kofi you kofi me

I have just received an email from Kofi Annan asking me how my family and I are doing.

Yup, apparently he is THE Kofi Annan.

He then proceeds to tell me that he has a cheque for USD 500,000 in my name for some project halted due to whatever problems caused by the Government.

I am to furnish my details to his representative in Nigeria who will take care of the transfer.

SERIOUSLY.. How does anyone fall for this?

honesty is a coy nymph

Things I learnt this week:

(1) Everybody thinks the problem/s they encounter is a major predicament -- Always get different perspective and take a step back to see how it all fits in the bigger picture. You'd probably feel foolish. Unless you're just plain dim to begin with.

(2) Honesty is a coy nymph who lives deep in the dark belly of the Malaysian tropical jungle -- It's probably related to Bigfoot, and just as fabled. Perhaps one sighting over a few years. Or an imaginary 5-second appearance then off it vanishes. What I heard is it ran off with its pixie little cousin, earnest.

(3) Sometimes all you need to do is listen. Sometimes all you need is to listen -- My heart goes out to your daughter; my prayers that all will be well, God willing.

(4) Answer the phone, despite being from numbers you dont know! -- You never know what's behind that phonecall.

but i love scrabulous...

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Popular social networking site Facebook has been asked to remove the Scrabulous game from its Web site by the makers of Scrabble, agencies have reported.

Hasbro and Mattel jointly wrote to the site's U.S. headquarters, calling for the game to be pulled, citing copyright issues, the UK's Press Association has said.

Mattel released a statement saying: "Letters have been sent to Facebook in the U.S. regarding the Scrabulous application.

"Mattel values its intellectual property and actively protects its brands and trademarks. As Mattel owns the rights to the Scrabble trademark outside the U.S. and Canada we are currently reviewing our position regarding other countries."

Hasbro owns the rights to the game in the U.S. and Canada.

According to Mattel's UK office, the online version of the popular board game was created by a third-party organization based in India.

Facebook surpassed MySpace and Bebo as the UK's most popular social networking site just last year with more than half a million daily users.

The official Scrabble Web site says that more than 100 million sets of the game have been sold in 29 different languages in 121 countries worldwide since its launch in 1948.

the titled untitled

It has been a long day today. Woke up at a God-forsaken hour after a 4 hour sleep to drive in the dark wrapped with a light blanket. At one point I actually considered whether I can drive with my eyes closed.

Considering the (prolonged and STILL not ready 4 months after the expected date) construction, I inadvertently drove in the wrong lane.

I then almost hit a stationary steamroller, but for the love of God, can you people be bothered to get the humongous thing off the highway before you decide to call it a day? I better stop before I start blasting the highway people and their concept of “timely completion”.

On my drive back my foot decided to have its once-in-a-blue-moon cramp which of course gave me a slight fright.

Eventful day – adventure-wise; work-wise; enjoyed a great conversation. Amongst other things.

Let me get back to sleep.

2 peas in a pod may also be poles apart

This or that?
Confront or compromise?

Today so far is an eye opener in many levels. Finally came head-on with a certain issue and took the first step to deal with it. Also finally accepted that certain recent changes are here to stay.

There are 2 sides to a coin; and many many ways to look at one thing.

So how?

Decisions, decisions...
